Buy Conditioners for Every Hair Type in India — Rinse-Out, Deep, and Leave-In Formulas
Most people treat conditioner as an afterthought — something you work through quickly before rinsing off and moving on. But the conditioner you use determines how your hair behaves for the rest of the week: how soft it is, how much it breaks, how well it holds moisture against hard water and heat, and how long your colour lasts.
This collection brings together rinse-out, deep-conditioning, and leave-in formulas from Olaplex, Gisou, Briogeo, Oribe, OUAI, Ranavat, Sol de Janeiro, Bumble and Bumble, Amika, and more — each one chosen because it solves a specific hair problem, not just because it smells good.
Which Type of Conditioner Do You Need?
Not all conditioners are built the same. Using the right format matters as much as using the right formula.
Rinse-Out Conditioner: The standard step after every wash. A rinse-out conditioner smooths the cuticle that shampooing opens up, reduces friction between strands, and seals in moisture temporarily. For a rinse-out to actually work, it needs two to three minutes of contact time — not ten seconds. Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner and Oribe's conditioner range are the most recommended rinse-out options at Luxe by Kan.
Deep Conditioner: Used once or twice a week in place of, or after, a regular rinse-out. A deep conditioner penetrates further into the cortex and stays on for longer — usually five to thirty minutes — delivering a higher concentration of proteins, ceramides, or oils. This is the format for genuinely damaged, over-processed, or very dry hair. Briogeo's Don't Despair, Repair range and Ranavat's Regenerative Conditioner both function as deep conditioners.
Leave-In Conditioner: Applied to damp hair after washing and left in — no rinsing. Leave-in conditioners provide ongoing hydration, detangling, frizz control, and in some cases heat protection throughout the day. They are particularly useful for curly and wavy hair, which loses moisture fastest. The Gisou Honey Infused Leave-In Conditioner is one of the most popular products in this format at Luxe by Kan.

Damaged and Breakage-Prone Hair
Damaged hair — from bleach, colour, heat styling, or chemical treatments — has a compromised cuticle and broken internal bonds. A conditioner alone cannot rebuild bonds; that is the job of a bond repair system like Olaplex. But the right conditioner is what keeps the progress made between washes intact.
Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner is designed as the direct companion to No. 4, continuing the bond repair process in the shower. Briogeo's Don't Despair, Repair Super Moisture Conditioner uses algae, rosehip oil, and B vitamins to deeply restore moisture to strands that have lost elasticity. Ranavat's Regenerative Conditioner is the most premium option in this category, using Ayurvedic botanicals alongside modern conditioning technology to rebuild strength and smoothness.
Dry Hair
Dry hair is different from damaged hair — it is a moisture problem rather than a structural one. The hair shaft is not absorbing or retaining water effectively, which typically results in dullness, roughness, and straw-like texture. Hard water is the most common cause of persistent dryness in Indian cities; it leaves mineral deposits that prevent conditioner from absorbing properly.
Gisou's Honey Infused Leave-In Conditioner is particularly effective for dry hair because Mirsalehi Honey is a natural humectant — it draws moisture from the environment and binds it to the hair shaft rather than simply coating the outside. Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Joia Smoothing Conditioner uses keratin micro-capsules to smooth the cuticle and restore softness wash after wash. Briogeo's Be Gentle, Be Kind Banana + Coconut Superfood Conditioner is a gentler everyday option for dry but not severely damaged hair.

Frizzy Hair
In Indian weather — particularly during monsoon season — a conditioner that seals the cuticle is more important than one that adds moisture. Frizz is caused by the hair cuticle lifting and absorbing moisture unevenly from humid air. Briogeo's Farewell Frizz range is built specifically around this concern, using rosarco oil and sweet almond oil to smooth and seal. OUAI's conditioners use a lightweight formula that smooths without heaviness, making them practical for daily use in humid months.
Colour-Treated Hair
Colour-treated hair has a lifted, more porous cuticle than natural hair — which means it loses moisture faster and fades quicker without the right conditioning support. A colour-safe conditioner does two things: it closes the cuticle to lock colour molecules in, and it restores the moisture that colour processing strips out.
Olaplex No. 5 is specifically formulated for colour-treated hair and is used by colourists worldwide as a post-service conditioning step. Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Strengthening + Smoothing Conditioner uses ionically bonding keratin micro-capsules that target split ends while protecting colour integrity. Ranavat's Regenerative Conditioner rounds out the colour care options with its blend of strengthening botanicals.
Curly and Wavy Hair
Curly and wavy hair has a naturally more open cuticle structure than straight hair, which means it loses moisture faster and benefits the most from both rinse-out and leave-in conditioning. The LOC method — applying a leave-in conditioner, then an oil, then a cream — is the most widely recommended approach for curly hair. Gisou's Leave-In Conditioner works well as the L step, providing the base layer of moisture that subsequent products can lock in.

Olaplex Conditioner
Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner is the most used bond-building conditioner in professional haircare. It works by completing the bond repair process started by No. 4 in the shower — closing the cuticle, restoring softness, and maintaining internal strength without weighing hair down. Lightweight, colour-safe, and sulfate-free, it suits all hair types and is used daily by both salon professionals and at-home users. Browse the complete Olaplex range.
Gisou Conditioner
Gisou's Honey Infused Leave-In Conditioner uses Mirsalehi Honey — a natural humectant — alongside plant proteins and UV filters to hydrate, detangle, and protect damp hair. It functions as a leave-in treatment, a heat protectant, and a frizz controller in one step, making it one of the most efficient products in a haircare routine. Gisou does not have official India distribution; Luxe by Kan is the primary destination. Browse the full Gisou collection.

Getting the Most Out of Your Conditioner — Especially in India
A few practical points that most product pages skip:
Rinse-out conditioner needs time: Apply to mid-lengths and ends after shampooing, comb through, and wait at least two to three minutes before rinsing. Most people rinse immediately — which means the conditioning agents never have time to penetrate. If your conditioner "doesn't work," this is usually why.
Hard water blocks conditioning: Mineral deposits from hard water (the default in Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Bangalore, and most Indian metros) coat the hair shaft and prevent conditioner from absorbing. A monthly clarifying shampoo resets this. After clarifying, your conditioner will perform noticeably better for weeks.
Leave-in goes on damp, not wet or dry hair: Apply to hair that has been gently towel-dried — about 70–80% dry — for the best absorption. On completely wet hair, the leave-in gets diluted. On dry hair, it sits on top rather than penetrating.
Do not condition your roots: Unless you are using a scalp-specific conditioner, apply only from the mid-lengths to the ends. Conditioning the scalp adds weight and can accelerate greasiness, particularly in India's heat.
